Texas Whale Racing Web Site Created

Anatomy of putting together a racing web site.

Time Line – Starting Saturday Evening:

The domain TexasWhaleRacing.com name was purchased (for less than $10) from Southern Star Hosting, and deluxe Hosting account set up with Big Kahuna Hosting, and DDS Enterprises used the automatic Word Press Installer to install Word Press on the Server. Total Time required was about an hour.

DDS went through Word Press’ site configuration to lay out how he wanted file names of pages and posts created, the time off-set for Texas, how to display the date and time, and the number of posts to display on the home page before archiving the older posts. About 30 minutes.

DDS installed the Director Theme from Word Press’ theme library and then modified graphics and the Cascading Style Sheet to give the site it’s own unique “Look and Feel”.  About 5 hours.

DDS installed plugins from the Word Press Plug-in library for Search Engine Optimization, post sticky, event calendar, collapsing links, contact form, and site statistics. About 2 hours.

DDS set up the page structure and arranged sidebar widgets. About an hour.

DDS Entered all of the NSS event he knows of into the Event Calendar. About an hour.

Sunday by noon — the site is finished and ready for context to be added.
